- Has done consistent weight training and cardio exercise for 50 years
- One of the hikers who completed the first Cactus to Clouds Challenge and has done this hike multiple times
- Avid hiker who has hiked many miles in the Sierras, Rockies and Cascades
- When not hiking, Ray walks an hour or more every day
- Lifts weights 3-4 times per week
- I also use heavy days alternating with light days, push vs. pull, 3 months intensive work alternating with 3 months maintenance, pre-exhaustion sometimes using large muscle groups to push smaller muscles beyond last rep.
