Palmer's Penstemon Penstemon palmeri Snow Canyon State Park, Utah These penstemon are fragrant and grow tall (3-5 feet) in washes and canyon floors. It is named after the botanist Edward Palmer who, in 1871, wrote Food Products of the North American Indians, one of the pioneering works in ethnobotany.
