Doug (right) and Fred after pull-up contest
Doug Traubel
  • 54 years old
  • Began training at age 13 in martial arts - has kept training since.
  • Author of book:  Red Badge -- A Veteran Peace Officer's Commentary on The Marxist Subversion of American Law Enforcement & Culture.
  • "In the beginning, I did not believe in weight training. I did push ups, sit ups, pull ups, lunges and running.  When I decided to apply to be a police officer at age 19, I added weights to my routine because I saw the benefit of size  for command presence and adding more strength to my incredible endurance I had at the time.   I seldom miss a workout.   I will go to the gym at midnight if necessary to get it in or at least do a routine at home;  i.e. push ups, pull ups, sit ups, lunges and run or bike.   Staying fit enhances every aspect of my life.   Discipline is something you pay in advance for a later return.  That is what a fit lifestyle is all about for me."
